    None actually. I made an error. I confused Melee's startlingly early release (within months of the Gamecube releasing) for an outright launch title.

    Honestly, it doesn't seem like an error. When I think of a launch title, I usually just think of a game released in the first year of the console's lifetime. For example, I consider Super Mario Odyssey a Nintendo Switch launch title even though it was released several months after the Switch's initial launch.

    Gonna do a blind first playthrough of Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe this week. It seems fun! My only knowledge of the game is that is a remake of a Wii title ported to Switch.

    I'm not buying the Virtual Boy for Switch Online. I don't like VR all that much and the games included aren't too exciting.

    Wait...Bowser once had a brother? I assume in the Lost Levels at least according to Thomas Game Docs. I don't think that really matters to Nintendo anymore and they'd probably explain it if he did still. I think the character got erased and was just a one-off thing.

    Yes, it also came in Green (well really just Seafoam Green) and Red-Black.

    I am 100%ing Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the first playthrough. It may be a little ambitious but I can definitely do it, especially with assist mode lol 😅

    Dry Bones and Pom Pom should not have been turned back to NPCs in Jamboree. They're unique characters and I'm sure they both have some fans out there. On the plus side, Toad and Toadette were finally playable again.

    With their presence in the Mario Kart and Mario sports titles, are Miis canonically in the Mario universe? I didn't use to think so, but if you put Mii characters in Mario fanfiction, it wouldn't be that big of a stretch, right?

    Aside from the existence of Mario stories with Miis as central characters, the presence of Miis shouldn't break the setting. There isn't a plot point that "Mario and co. are the only humans" and there isn't a limit on the number of species in the world, so there is space for a group that are very similar to humans that also happen to be around. (Bear in mind that "Mario and co. are the only humans" is plot point in the Illumination movie, so putting Miis in that might call for at least an explanation for their presence.)

    I've always thought of Miis as just little avatars that represent people, and not really a distinct species. Sort of like how Mario and the people from New Donk City look different despite being the same species.

    Is it just me or would Kirby make a great animated film since Mario and Sonic could do it and it has great characters?

    I shudder at the thought of having to define what Kirby's texture is.

    I feel like my opinion doesn't actually matter here. I'm obsessed. I'd watch a Kirby film even if it were publicly known to be hot garbage.

    In any case, I think a big difference is that it's harder to get an uninformed character in to justify exposition. Mario isn't from the... Mario world, so other characters can to explain how things work to him, and therefore the audience. Sonic regularly interacts with humans, so having one in the film and having Sonic explain what the deal is makes sense. Kirby's world has neither of these outs unless we start fiddling with existing characters. (I know you could take from the Kirby: Right Back At Ya backstory, where Kirby isn't from Pop Star, but I'm not really a fan of that backstory)

    I can totally understand that but maybe a movie would fully explain his true backstory. Perhaps instead Kirby comes to Earth in this movie and needs help to return to Pop Star.

    Splatoon 3's Big Man boss fight is brutal. I've already upgraded my hero gear and it's the third phase I cannot beat. Anyone have any tips?

    It's very similar to the Phantamanta fight from Sunshine iirc, but I would say to possibly take out the other smaller mantas before focusing on the one Big Man is in. It's been a while since I played Hero Mode, so I'm not very credible, but I think some of the strategies from Phantamanta exist here too

    I've never had a Nintendo 3DS standard but I have a New Nintendo 3DS XL that does the same thing except he other circle pad it's the size of a button. I used to play Minecraft with it until the cartridge broke because I unfortunately drowned my 2DS in the toilet for some reason. It was a pain to turn Steve's head. I now use Java where it's as simple as moving your mouse.

    I also use the Wii U version, which works fine.

    It's not necessary for most first party games, right? I'm planning on saving up and getting a 3ds in the future, and I don't really want to have to buy a Circle Pad Pro.

    Mario and Luigi Paper Jam gets so hated on. It seems like a good game. I've never played it but I've seen trailers of it and it looks fun.

    Very underrated game indeed. While the plot may not be the greatest, it's still a very fun Mario & Luigi game gameplay-wise!

    Not really, although I can understand why people could think this way. I personally think Super Mario 64's screen is scarier. Not saying this will make me jump out of my seat and hide behind it, but because the music sounded strange and creepy to me around 5 years ago.

    I could see that. Mario's dizziness combined with the reddish tint of the screen might be scary for some people
