Hey, @Kirbyo, I know you're saying "I don't really care, as long as I'm not involved," but, if I can offer some person-to-person advice, this really is a subject you should care about and inform yourself about. You don't need to become an expert. You don't need to go out and become an activist and have this consume all of your attention and mental energy, but you should be aware of what's happening and inform yourself so you can draw your own conclusions. This is an issue that affects millions of people on a deeply, deeply personal level as part of their daily reality and experience. It causes immense amounts of pain for many people, and, whether you're aware of it or not, it does affect you and the people around you. I'm sure you want the world to be the best place it can be, with the least amount of pain for everyone there can be, with equal opportunity and the freedom to live a good, pleasant life for everyone. To do that, we need to, as a society, understand challenges of systemic racism, of police brutality, and other similar challenges that are much bigger than any of us individually. We need to understand them and to act, to firmly reject them, and find real, practical ways to minimize these problems and, in the ideal, at least, to eliminate them entirely.

So, please do care, and please do inform yourself. Draw your own conclusions. Seek out information, and don't let someone else tell you what to think about this.

I'm also going to caution you from saying things like "the blacks would have rioted," because, whether you know it or not, that phrasing is absolutely racially charged. That's painting and entire class of people with one broad stereotype, one that's specifically painting people as violent, as people to be feared, too. It's very important you understand that using that language, painting that picture, promoting that stereotype, that's dangerous and harmful. It's possible that, whatever the outcome, there could have been unrest, but it's not all going to come from one group of people, all acting in the same way. People don't do behave as a unit. People are individuals. And rioting and protesting need to be understand as different things, and if there are rioters, they should not be taken to discredit people who are protesting and advocating for the building of a better society.

Please, inform yourself, and be more conscious of the words you use and the effects they have on people.

@Hooded Pitohui I was talking about the fact that I don't want anyone mad at me because this is Politics. Also changed the wording. My mom likes the way you worded it.

Did you get this from Fox news? Fox news is notorious for peddling into bullshit. Right-wing sources in general typically are.
