Yup! Make sure to also spread awareness during June! Make sure to include aces! Rather than say, "LGBT", please either do "LGBT+", "LGBTQIA+". "A" does not stand for ally and this excludes aces, which is Not Good!

Spreading awareness and visibility is still very important today as ace people's experiences tend to be marginalized even among the gender and sexual minorities. Asexuality isn't even mentioned in a psychology textbook I've looked at, not even hinted, it's just assumed everyone has a sexual attraction, and that can be harmful. There are still a lot of teenagers who feel they're broken and had to suffer from belittling comments from peers and parents because asexual awareness simply hasn't reached them. Sex education SHOULD cover this orientation especially. I didn't know about this orientation well after puberty.

Also I was subject to verbal abuse online regarding my asexuality too. That happens to aces, yeah.

I've had other LGBT+ people insist that asexuality is just some 'made up Tumblr shit'.

Screw em.

Are there no biological studies about it? Like how there's studies on homosexuality being genetic or not. It'd help you out big time for those sorts of situations too.

Gatekeepers are the worst. I mean how is it not plausible to just not be sexually attracted to anyone? If people are gonna go "well it's to reproduce" then you can argue against homosexuality or bisexuality (on another hand I think bisexual people have faced disparaging gatekeeping). Of you're going to argue "well sex is fun and fulfilling"; for you, sure, not everyone agrees, people have different ideas of how to fulfill their time and not all sex is relationship fulfilling anyway, see sex work (whose workers are also faced with gatekeeping but no one argues that's tumblr shit).

As for biological studies, recognition of the orientation is relatively new (but plausible, kinda like how nonbinary/trans people without gender dysphoria are plausible but no studies are done because the area is neglected) but I recall that the autism spectrum is disproportionately represented in the ace spectrum? Ace people were documented in history though. As for the genetic component, I don't know, orientation's complex business in general.
