So, how is it?

AMAZING!

It depends. If you like Sticker Star and Color Splash, then you'll probably like this even more. If you prefer PM64 and TTYD, then you'll be let down by this one. If you've never played a Paper Mario game and / or are going into this one with an open mind, you'll enjoy it for what it is.

I actually always preferred SPM... then again, I played like one chapter of 64 and played through SS, but still prefer SPM.

I agree to disagree. But yet J have only played striker star. But I have watched Styder7x so I know how 64 and TTYD play. But Origami king is better still. So instead of EXP you get coins. And you'll need a lot of them. Also the battles give you confetti. Not a huge fan of the ACNH and ZBOTW Glass weapons though.

I played it with an open mind and I liked it. So you got my opinion. I want to make this clear to OG paper Mario fans. Just because somethings different. Doesn't mean it's bad. Sure SS and CS were bad. But Origami King is a good game. Just because it doesn't have EXP doesn't make it instantly bad.

Maybe. I hope I get it, I'd like it for my birthday, but I'll have to wait and see what I get.

Why were SS and CS bad?

Consumable items. Toads freaking everywhere

They weren't necessarily bad (they each got around 75 on Metacritic, and mixed to positive reviews), and Color Splash is generally considered an improvement over Sticker Star, but the main criticisms are the lack of RPG elements, a simpler storyline, battle not being motivating, and the lack of unique characters and partners.

Origami king is like the best of both worlds. It has partners. After the first chapter what the hell is wrong with you Nintendo. And doesn't have EXP. But if you think about it improves the game

Oh and unique characters that aren't toads. But I haven't seen very many of them quite yet. They'll eventually pop up. I hope.

For comparison, on Metacritic, Sticker Star has 75, Color Splash has 76, and Origami King (so far), has 81. There's definitely an improvement here over SS and CS. In contrast to the older games, PM64 has 93, TTYD has 87, and SPM has 85.
