It's not really a roleplay when you only ever have your characters talk to each other, and the only time you interact with other players is when you want to exert control over them.
What's weird is that I gave a thoroughly elaborate criticism of his characters and harshly lambasted them at least three times in my ask thread and he hasn't said anything bad about it at all.
And as I said earlier, I don't think it's a problem of them talking to just each other. Lots of people in the RP do that and don't spiral out of control. Their problem is that on top of their unrealistic political influence, they literally all have the same personality and are bland as hell.
It always depends on the group and the personal views and preferences of the players, yeah. Insular RP is not a problem by itself if it's reasonable and not misused. I just personally think it misses the point of collaborative narration somewhat.
That's what I think as well. If people want to do just their characters on their own adventure, they should just write a fanfic instead. But there's always room for improvement, none of us are experts after all, and even then, their side-stories that don't affect anyone else are harmless at worst. I'd take isolated stories over what White Lightning did any day of the week.
@Hibiki Tachibana, @Seteth, @Redshift, @Striker MarioI am prone to those mistakes. That is why I repeat them. Some people are more prone to mistake than others. I fall into the more prone category.
It's not making mistakes that's a problem. It's you consistently refusing to learn from them in favor of attempting to powerplay into your fantasies that has been going on almost the entire time you've been in the RP that's a problem.
@Sheldon Cooper stop doubling down then, that's a start, and accept your consequences. You didn't even specify your mistakes so I don't know if what you're doing is some sort of shallow asking for forgiveness or not.
Being prone to mistakes is not an excuse for repeating mistakes. In no way is "i can't help godmodding sometimes" a valid excuse. My foot is down and it's staying down.
My tip is to try playing a single character from humble beginnings, who does not have a higher figure bestow powers upon them, and just see where that takes you.
Yeah, I should try that. If @Hibiki Tachibana allows me. I can start fresh and put that into motion. It is just a habit that I need to break very badly.
