So apparently my YouTube channel crossed one million views??? I don't know when that happen but that's really cool.

Going to need John Nintendo himself to explain what's going on with my PAL Wii. Even with a new disc drive that was working for about three weeks with no issues, it's started throwing disc read errors again.

So YouTube won't play videos and Spotify won't play songs but everything else I've tried after the power outage I had earlier works fine, what's going on?

E: I unplugged my headphones and plugged them back in again and suddenly they work.

I don't think I've ever been more confused in my life.

I'm not any good at game development so maybe I should turn my idea for a Paper Mario fan game into a serialized story for Palette Swap

I love listening to the first 45 seconds of an 85 second song on loop for hour on end.

Here's something I don't think I've mentioned: did you know I want to plot out my own Paper Mario fan game? I wouldn't be able to write every single line of dialogue ever since that would take literal years and I definitely don't have that kind of time but I would still enjoy writing the plot, characters, and setting.

Summer classes start for me today. I'd say to wish me luck but they're all low-level so they should be easy enough.

I cannot draw to save my life so any avatar you see me using was commissioned, usually from someone on Bluesky. There's multiple that I've commissioned and they're all great.

I can't believe I've had this account for 12 years now. I was in sixth or seventh grade when I joined and now I'm less than a year away from graduating college and starting grad school.

Me and @Shockwave are really close to finding the last of the random item preset themes from MK8D but I still thought I would ask everyone else here if they can find any connections. Here's the last two we aren't entirely sure on:


MightyMario says this is less of a theme and more of a challenge where you'll constantly be pelted with Bloopers so you can't see if you're driving into the bananas or Bob-ombs. I'm not really sold on that since all the other themes are "things that [X]" so to me this just looks like "Things that start with B," except that doesn't add up because Boos, Boomerang Flowers, and Bullet Bills aren't included.


This one seems to be "Things that you don't get in first place" but I still wonder if there's something else it could be. If no one else has any ideas then we'll probably stick with that.

I'm not crazy for remembering a latest posts section on the main page, right? Not latest profile posts, just latest posts in general. Did it get removed in the last two and a half months or something?

Hi. Dropping in to document something that I can't find any reference to anywhere on the wiki.

So it turns out that if you press "Random" on the custom items menu in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it actually selects randomly from a list of ten presets, which all seem to be themed in some way (all red items, all items that rotate around you, all items from Mario Kart 64, etc.).

I have screenshots of all ten of the presets, should I put them in a thread here so we can try to determine the themes of all of them? There's about half of them that I haven't been able to determine.

How nice that I drop in and I see that people are kind enough to wish me happy birthday. Belated thanks for that.

Anyway, there's even more cool updates in my life besides just that I'm 23 now; last month I got accepted to grad school, and a couple days ago I got notified that my legal name has been changed so even though my mental health is down, good things are happening in my life.

I might also come back and try to be active on more occasions

Popping in to share an achievement I'm extremely proud of.

I just finished writing a novel.

A full length YA novel at 50 chapters and 325 pages, all in under 100 days (98 days, to be exact).

I'm so happy with all the progress I've made and I want to thank all of you for the support I've gotten in my time here.

I know I haven't been here basically at all in like a month so let me just say there's a couple reasons for it. For one, over the course of October, I had a really big dropoff of my actual interest in being here so I decided to just step back for a while.

But then November started with me having to listen to a group of nine people shit on my writing style and be surprisingly ableist about it? All the things they said were bad about my story could just be chalked up to "This is something I struggle with because of my autism" and it hurt a lot because I couldn't defend myself.

And then the election happened and my spirit was completely broken. I'm still trying to come to terms with it because I'm terrified of a nationwide ban on trans rights, even though I still think the states that I'm associated with (Illinois and Massachusetts) will keep protections in place for trans people. Needless to say though, I'm very tired and scared.

I'll just have to see what happens with my life and the world and everything to determine if I'll ever come back fully. I might still drop in from time to time to finish out my term on the Poll Committee but things are pointing toward retirement right now.

I finally deleted my Twitter account last night. I hadn't been active on there in two years, only returning to retweet the same tweet about Allen Ludden every day on October 5. But now that I'm on Bluesky and they have videos, my Allen Ludden tradition can continue without me having to benefit the horrible owner of the bird app in any way.
