100% agree with this view. There are a myriad of business decisions I could criticize Disney on (especially as of late...) but their mismanagement of properties that they have acquired is definitely up there, because it has been going on for YEARS at this point.

@Malleus Draconia As someone who grew up with Disney such things really worry me, although it is unlikely I will still be alive by the time they go bankrupt because they have so much money-I think billions of dollars by this point (it will take a VERY long time if that ever happens). Still, it's worrying. ☹️

I sometimes feel that it's strange in general that properties can be owned by companies that mishandle them or just let them wither into obscurity, just because they have the money to purchase paperwork that says anyone else can be sued for trying to tell their own versions of the stories to a wide audience.

My view anyways is that I don't feel loyalty about any companies like Disney, they're just the salespeople in the end. I care about the artists who made works I like that just so happen to have been published by the company. It's unfair that they get overlooked in these conversations. Sometimes a new creative team under a company will be able to create continuations that stand on their own, but whether such a continuation is seen as official is arbitrary when you look closely enough.

I think there should be more monkeys at the position of CEOs.
