    guys, does anyone remember what video game magazine it was that for one april fools announced one of those "violent mario with guns" games and the accompanying image was mario's head on the body of a doom 64 mancubus

    Unless I'm mistaken, that would be GamePro Magazine, who would rebrand themselves to LamePro every year during their April issue for April Fools. I recall Angry Video Game Nerd talking about it in his 2019 Video Game Magazines review.

    Good guess, but I checked the April issues from '96 to '99 on Internet Archive and didn't see it in any of them. It doesn't seem to show up in the AVGN episode you mentioned either.

    Well, I never said anything about AVGN talking about the "violent Mario with guns" thing in his episode, I just said that he talked about GamePro rebranding themselves to LamePro every April for April Fools' Day. But if there isn't any sign of that "violent Mario with guns" stuff in the '96 to '99 April issues of that particular magazine, then it must've been a different magazine.

    did you know when nintendo were making the nes mario trilogy they accidentally skipped from 1 to 3 because of a misunderstanding. it was only when all-stars was being developed that they decided to incorporate two completely new games, each offering a very different take on what mario 2 might have been like if they'd remembered to make it

    I now own two Donkey Kong '94 cartridges that won't save, presumably because of a dead battery. I should have just tried to manually replace the battery in the first one I got.
