Personally for me, a superhero based after a dog would freaking suck.

Koala or Panda, they're both deliberately lazy and evolutionarily inefficient, what would Panda-Man do? Not use his power and just eat bamboo? Be too lazy to care for their own young? Have to eat at least 26 pounds of bamboo a day to live?!
Or Koala-Boy? He'd just sleep because all he eats is poison lacking any nutrition and he literally cannot do anything else! And the few times he will be awake are just spent eating. Can't even recognize the leaves as food if they're not on the branch.
(I do not like these animals, how could you tell?)

@LavaSherbert I once borrowed a manga series from the Library when I was a child called The Adventures of Panda Man by Sho Makura. There were three books in that series, and from what I can remember from it, there was lots of gross-out humor, the hero was incredibly lazy and a big eater, and I usually liked the villains he went up against a lot more than him and most of the side characters.

I haven't borrowed those books since the early 2010s, but I think it was for good reason. I'm not one for gross-out humor or heroes that are inactive. Also, thanks for unknowingly reminding me of this series. I thought it just vanished from existence, and I honestly forgot about it before this post.
