I think it's a step up, but the decision to release it a couple of months after New Super Mario Bros 2 really hurt the series. It made people think NSMB was all Nintendo cared about and contributed to the unfair reputation the series has for being cashgrabs. It should have waited a year or two...
I don't like how the story with the Paper Goomba in Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam got aborted with no conclusion. He blows the cover of Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario and just runs off to wherever with no mention of his fate afterward. It really could have used an expansion, for example after he...
I disagree. I love the New Super Mario Bros games and think they're among the best platformers ever made. We should've gotten more of them.
I think most of the series' contentious reputation comes from New Super Mario Bros 2. They didn't give it many original mechanics and the coin-collecting...
So 150 cubic centimeters in the pistons of each kart. Which means the engines can pump more energy from fuel, so the karts can go faster.
Man, Nintendo is smart.
Like seriously, HOW do you manage to blow that game like THAT?!
The worst part is that even when the Patriots got the momentum back on that strip-sack by Hightower and scored to get within eight points, the Falcons still had every opportunity to close out the game and win. Literally all they...
Oh well, in that case, they should have made it possible for all four characters to play the final battle. It would have given the game its own unique identity and allowed all the characters a chance to be the hero.
Yoshi can't grab or punch enemies. But yeah, it would be really nice to see how he deals with the Bowser battles, and if the game would adjust in any way to give him a chance.
Super Mario 64 DS is an excellent game, but I would have changed two things to make it even better: allow all characters to use the Wing Cap, and allow Mario, Luigi, and Wario to fight the final battle against Bowser. It really sucks that this is Wario's only appearance in the mainline Super...
I just realized that the Trouble Center in Thousand-Year Door is supposed to be that game's successor to Koopa Koot. Wow, I'm an idiot.
Edit: Technically, I did know about it for a while, but I kept forgetting.
In the Mario and Luigi games, there are two different stats for both POW and DEF; one stat is the base stat that is seen when you open up your stats on the menu in the overworld, and the other is the battle POW/DEF that can change depending on what happens in battle. What's the difference...
The overworld theme of New Super Mario Bros is one of the most iconic themes in video game history. Maybe it doesn't have the critic support, but if you were a kid growing up in the late '00s and early '10s, this was the song you played to.
