Mario 3D world: When can I see what toon has beaten each level?

Heya - I am playing through Mario 3D world on the Wii U and am trying to unlock the final level by getting each star, stamp and flag, I an wondering at what point will it show me which character I have beaten each level with. Does that happen after I have beat each level or do I need every star? I think I have gone through every level but now I am wondering if I might have missed one or 2 - perhaps I might have missed one of those "fire bros" levels.

You have to access World Crown, which means you have to collect all stamps, Green Stars, and make all flagpoles golden from World 1 to World Flower.
