Awards Killing Game 2x2: Moon of Hope (Game Thread) - Day 1 - Notifiable Incident

I'd like to check the Armory for missing weapons, armor, and to make sure there's no marks around.
I think there should only be a sword, a flail, and some armor pieces missing.
If there's more, it could be the killer who took them.

In the Rafters, are there any skeletons/taxidermied animals under disturbed tarpaulins missing skulls, and if so, what kind of animal does the skeleton seem to belong to?

Is it possible to conceal any of the larger skulls on my person and walk around without it being noticeable?

Additionally, on my way through the crow's nest, I did see someone stalking around the grounds, heading from the ice to the sand, stopping just briefly in the dunes before continuing.
Curious about this so investigate the Sandy Grounds, particularly to see anything has been buried here

Fascia and I will take a Darklight Torch to the hallway directly outside the Armory and Rafters, the Rafters themselves, and the Terminal.
Does anything show up? Especially around the claw marks in the Rafters.

Oh, and the slime on Miss Mona's hands. I think we should check that more closely. Along with shining Darklight on it.
You invoke the power of darklight by taking a cool torch from the Dark Lab in your hand and clicking it a few times until it works. A purpley-rainbow light erupts from the end. The claw marks are physical, and they're real, and it looks like they react gently under darklight.

You note that the Armory check from before was only focused on weapons, and spot some armor missing as well. Unlike the weapons, it's easier to tell at a glance which specific pieces have been taken. A whole suit of leather armor is gone, and a few pauldrons from a heavier suit as well.

You look at the slime and Mona's hands closely. She's wearing disposable cleaning gloves, and they reek of fish, and the slime glows under darklight. Most of this has already been uncovered, but it's nice to really be sure.

There are a few animal skulls in the rafters, with modern skulls grouped with the Safari Exhibit items and more ancient skulls grouped with Ice Age Exhibit items. You note that it definitely seems like a collection of adolescent wooly mammoth bones, a mixture of replicas and real ones, is missing an obvious skull.

Is it possible to conceal any of the larger skulls on my person and walk around without it being noticeable?
You unearth a horse skull from the Safari collection, and try to carry it around. It's heavy, very noticeable, and kinda gnarly. Under a tarp, it would be more unassuming, but still very noticeable.

You trek through to the border between the sandy grounds and snowy grounds, and start digging a hole roughly near the border. As all great adventurers are wont to do. The wind blows the sands and dusts around you, and it's coarse and rough and gets everywhere. You find sand. You keep digging, and you find nothing but yet more sand. Perhaps it's in a slightly different spot? You dig around some more. Alas... sand.

Just to be certain, is there another mammoth skull around that we could compare to the impact on Mona's skull?

There isn't another present, so you can't compare the impact exactly. KBB also lacks a closet full of woolly mammoth skulls, so you make do with a replica elephant skull with small tusks. A replica mammoth skull would be hefty, but if you were prepared, you could reasonably strike someone from behind with this, and leave a gnarly bruise.

You note that the elephant skull is a pretty close match to the bruise on her head, anyway.

Do some sick ice skating tricks on the the icy lake (also check the general area for any oddities I guess while I'm there)
Your tricks are Excellent!

The only oddity here that hasn't already been examined is the Fishing Hut, which you duck into. Some fishing rods and other items appear missing, but that's about it. You poke your head into the hole in the ice lake, and find it's full of wet.

Check the Nautical Exibit (including underwater and in the crates) for mammoth skulls.

Check the depths of the icy lake for mammoth skulls.

Check the container room for mammoth skulls.

Check under Albina's bed for mammoth skulls.

Since the scratch marks reacted to darklight, maybe the skull does too, so I'm using a darklight to help with all of this.

Take a deep breath.

Check the stairways, elevator shafts, the 2f floor hole, and terminal egress for signs of a mammoth skull being dropped down.

Be at ease, draconic one, for the spectre of the ancients haunts thy mind. Spare thy energy, it seems yond dastardly skull is truly not with us. Tomorrow eve, I shall light a candle in the hopes thy dreams are not plagued with such thoughts.

I would advise everyone to stay calm. Though Mona will need our support throughout these trying times, we have seen her die before. So, it stands to reason that we will see her return again. And if not, she may rest easy, knowing that she no longer lingers in that flux between life and death. Better to remain on one side of that boundary than to play on the fence. Believe me, resurrections are a dangerous thing.

I believe my night has been represented accurately already thanks to my new ally and friend, Doctor Tempest Ghouligrab. However, in the pursuit of truth, and as a show of respect for the deceased's vigorous commitment to safety and documentation, I will relay my results as best as I can.

My first and most important order of business was tending to the exquisite vehicle left behind in the Garage. Gadd is a fool, but he keeps a fine car. In the absence of my own, it will make for an elegant and delicious ride indeed. It's an antique, but lovingly maintained indeed. The two of us enjoyed an intimate moment of inspection, with that solitary Winter Dragon standing watch and documenting our process. I understand why a dragon would have no need for a car, but perhaps if I can decipher his language, I could convince him of the joys of these machines. I noticed he also took a spare battery and a first aid kit - essential survival tools. I respect that.

Next, I begin my patrol of the outer grounds. I see very little of use other than a lone figure hunting for ice elementals by the lake. This combination of biomes is fascinating nonetheless. I re-enter the complex via the Foyer, noticing Sir Ratigan entering the Archives, and someone else in a hurry, heading east. I continue downstairs, hoping to catch the esteemed Doctor Tempest Ghouligrab before his battle. Together, we assisted each other with our scientific hypotheses, me assisting him in the construction of some strange torch, and him assisting me in our inspection of the automated guards in the Guard Tunnel. Our findings? They are alert soldiers, but not very agile. The quick-footed Lash was able to sprint past them with ease. Our collaboration had merit, and I bid the man farewell. I drop him off at the scene of his clash with the vile ghost king, and continue on with my business.

Then, in search of more secrets, I find myself at the Basin, with an eye for sunken treasure. With Tanner as my company, I attempt to drill down into the ice, using my feet as the lethal weapons that they are. Though I don't see any loot beneath the surface, I am satisfied that my power is still enough to cause the ice to crack. Tanner makes idle chit-chat about the Ghost Rats plaguing this facility, and I can't help but notice they have tried to gnaw through the Tomb door.

Beyond that, I find myself ready to rest, and return to my quarters promptly.
