South Sudanese Independence Referendum

Thank you based god
On January 9th, South Sudan will be holding a referendum to decide if it will declare independence from Sudan. Unlike most of Sudan, which is Arab, South Sudan is made of many African tribes, most of which are Christian or Animist. Hopefully, this referendum will follow the peaceful precedent that Kosovo's referendum set in 2008. However, with the recent violence in Sudan, this may not be the case. Should South Sudan declare independence, the Abyei region will hold a referendum to determine if it wants to join them later in the year and the Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile regions will hold "popular consultations", which I guess is some sort of caucus, whether it be done by the government or the people.

So, what do you guys think?
