Sonic Colors

Re: A new Sonic game on the horizon?

I'm actually interested in Sonic 4. I hope it's not a big disappointment like the Black Knight was.

Sonic Free Riders is going to crash and burn though.

Re: A new Sonic game on the horizon?

Tails will now be voiced by Kate Higgins, best known for her roles as Sakura in Naruto, and C.C. in Code Geass.

Re: A new Sonic game on the horizon?

I didn´t see a problem with the Sonic Riders games. I´d rather have those which at least try to be unique, over the gazillion Mario Kart copy-cats out there.

Heck, even after the Sonic Riders bashing, Sega made the all stars racing one, which is a lot more like Mario Kart, and pretty much everyone considered it WIN, or at least way better than the riders games. I think people just make the "mascot racing games must be like Mario Kart to be good" assumption, so they didn´t even give the Riders games a genuine try other than playing them a few minutes, maybe an hour, and continue the endless bawwwww-ing.

Also, it´s kinda ironic to read the "sonic is meant to be a platformer only" type of replies in a forum about a franchise that involves an insane amount of different genres and games, other than platformers, despite starting as platforming only too.

On-Topic: Sonic Colours looks promising, especially because they actually tried with the stage designs, other than making them entire speedways like recent games did. It has the infamous boost, yes, but at least there are items and alternate paths, and stuff involved in the stages, which is better than the "mash the boost button" type of sonic games both unleashed games were. The only thing I can complain from what I see on the videos is that there are only egg pawns (and their respective variations). A little more of enemy variety would be good.

PS: The non-Scratch bird guy is Jet, and he was in the first Sonic riders, and some other Sonic sport titles too (he´s kinda like Sega´s Waluigi, really)

As for the voices... I just don´t get Sega. First, they fire the entire original voice cast instead of replacing the only actor that died. Now that the new actors were getting the hang of their characters, they fire them for no good reason.

Good thing that they are keeping Mike Pollock at least. That guy is a great Eggman, and even got the guts to say the infamous pingas line in an interview.

The fans bitch about the cast 24/7, and occasionally SEGA will try to replace the cast and see if they stop bitching.

Ah, Mike Pollock is a great voice actor.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not a huge fan of Mike Pollock's Robotnik voice.

Roger needs to tone down the surfer accent, and make the voice a little less deep. He needs to sound more like Deidara or Shinji Hirako (other characters that he's voiced).

Apparently, there's a planet in the game that's shaped like Metal Sonic's head, but Metal Sonic, himself, doesn't actually appear, according to Iizuka(sp?). I'm a bit disappointed.

That's probably the first time I've ever missed Jason.

Reminds me of when Yoshi's head appeared in SMG, but Yoshi himself didn't appear. BTW, when does this game come out?

So far, a specific release date hasn't been conformed. All that's listed so far, is "Winter 2010".

I just noticed, in that image the Earth in the background carries the same appearance from SA2.

That's some nice continuity there.

New trailer is up:

An actual release date has recently been confirmed. It's going to be released in the U.S. on November 16, 2010. Also, here's the boxart for both the Wii and DS versions:

I LOVE the boxart, but this will probably not be a first day buy since Kirby's Epic Yarn will likely be released two or three weeks before this...

By the way, what are those weird blob thingies?

I think those are the aliens that lend their powers to Sonic.

Hmm, odd concept, but I guess it is original for a Sonic game.

I hope that the aliens are not another gimmick like the sword in Black Knight or Werehog in Unleashed.
