In some ways, there is a general dislike in playing games from the older consoles (the NSO NES online got this kind of feedback basically), since the Atari 2600 and NES handled their games in a more basic way without the conveniences found in later consoles. I can understand where this image is coming from, although perhaps the Genesis is still loved by people probably because it's to date the most successful SEGA console.
