Pinned topics...

I couldn't find this answer anywhere on the board so I might as well ask it here:

Say I was wandering, what does it take to have a pinned topic? Does it require many posts to be in the topic? is it part of the ranking system (hot, very hot, etc)? I'm just curious how it works.

It's topics that are deemed important at the current time for any number of reasons. Posts and frequency of posting don't necessarily buy into it; some of our pinned topics are permanently locked with one post due to being announcements. Really, it's case-by-case.
