New Popeye Movie

[Shy Guy Forever]

So this is some new Popeye movie.

Discuss.

[Lakituthequick]

Well that actually looks pretty neat.

According to Behind the Voice Actors, Tom Kenny (The guy behind Spongebob and Ice King from Adventure Time) will be voicing Popeye in this. Olive will be voiced by Grey DeLisle (From Fairly Odd Parents, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Scooby-Doo etc.).

i saw this trailer a while ago and was utterly disturbed

the animation style just does not work. it looks weird. why couldn't they have just made a 2d animated movie, or gone for a style more like the new peanuts movie

[Lorenz Hellman Gloucester]

oh jesus no

at first i was going to post how in his spinach there must be anabolic steroids mixed in but

this animation style

[Stargazing]

The animation style... I am now scarred for life.

[DragonFreak]

Popeye should have been again played by Ro-DAMMIT. Uuuuggghhhh.

My thoughts exactly.

[Kyoko Sakura]

I think the animation looks awesome for 3D. It reminds me of this: http://youtu.be/4b3F9oucB_A

Maybe I don't know enough about Popeye but what bugged me was the dancing yellow dude. He reminds me of the Minions from Despicable Me or the comic relief fishys from The Lorax.

Also I didn't see his pipe. They better include his pipe.

[Magikrazy]

i havent seen the trailer but i believe youre referring to eugene the jeep

So far so good. I like it that they have professional voice actors to play the leads rather than having some big named celebrity.

[Nabber]

implying that big name actors can't be voice actors

implying that voice actors can't be big names

tom kenny a grey deleslie are pretty famous in their fields

[Magikrazy]

genndy tartokovsky is directing

thats all it took to convince me

but yeah where is the pipe it seems weird without it

i hope its better than the other popeye movie (not the robin williams one i mean the other animated one)

[Lorenz Hellman Gloucester]

you know at the end there when he says "olive!" he kind of sounds like krusty from the simpsons.
