Frozlunky is a seed mod for Spelunky that not only allows you to do seeds, but also have special difficulty seeds and most recently, turn on "level mods". One of these level mods was to force every single level to be dark ("I can't see a thing!") - including the Ice Caves, City of Gold, Olmec and Hell, where you cannot ever get dark levels.
In a fit of pure insanity, I did a run all the way to Hell with dark levels.

To my knowledge, I'm the first ever to successfully do this.
This run also completes the game without the Spectacles, an item that increases your field of view in dark levels.
Watch in awe. It was so frickin' nerve wrecking.
