I have no idea how these so-called tiers work.
I only played a few hours of it so I don't have much unlocked. I was using Yoshi + Sports Bike + Cushion + Default Glider.
Once I get the Yoshi Bike I'll swap to that. I'm kind of inconsistent when it comes to wheels but Cushion worked well, so I've stuck with that the most. Wood wheels are fine too, as are monster wheels.

Any stat value 0-0.75 is the same.

I decided to look this stuff up. Basically all stats are rounded down and that value is used. In that side my combo is pretty nifty, yeah, only having one .50 and one .75.

I guess part of this dilemma has to do with the fact that the lowest possible stat value to get in Mario Kart 8 is 1/6, while it's 0.75/6 in Mario Kart 7.
Sadly, only the Biddybuggy, Landship, Mr. Scooty, Sport Bike, Comet, Jet Bike, and Yoshi Bike can reach the A-tier level, and even then, this can only happen with the lightweights and middleweights, with the middleweights being limited to only the Biddybuggy, Landship, and Mr. Scooty.
Anyway, it's a shame that there isn't enough stat diversity with the playable characters. If I were able to, I would make some changes to the stats for certain characters.

I fathom the thought process of the need to convert the acceleration stat into tiers while leaving the rest as it is.
