The Situation in Venezuela

In an ideal world, we're supposed to be help people from their oppressed environments. In fact, if it weren't for Americans intervening in France during World War II, I may not even be here today. After all, my grandmother lived during World War II, right in the Lorraine area of France, which is next to... Germany. But, this kind of stuff drains resources, including human life, and if the conflict turns out badly, Americans end up retreating and the country that needs us suffers.

germany and japan taking over the world is a completely different problem than protests in venezuela
 
I wouldn't say we want the US (or any other country for that matter) to send jets here and start bombarding and killing all the oppresors but at least paying more attention to our situation would be nice. There's just too much silence surrounding our situation. Very little is being said when the problems going on here are HUGE. We don't have the coverage we need.

You know what? Forget that. We do need someone's help to deal with the assassins hired by the government. They have weapons that aren't sold on your regular gun shop. They have war weapons here, and they're using them against us. How can we even stand a chance? And then they say that the opposition is funding the protests. Wtf? Who has the dollars? Who has the contacts? Who has all what's necessary to acquire those kinds of weapons? The government, of course. Sadly, peace is not going to take us anywhere here because THEY are the violent ones. No dictatorship, ever, in the whole history of the universe, has fallen peacefully. :(

Anser I would to take the moment to say that this isn't the first dictatorship in the country.

There were other two Dictators, one of them was called Marcos Perez Jimenez and I forgot the name of the other one before him

I know. Actually Pérez Jiménez was the first, Juan Vicente Gómez was the second. What do they two have in common? The protests took them both down. I hope the story repeats itself.
 
Yesterday, a 28-year-old woman was killed. Not only that, but she had 3 months of pregnancy. The protests are still on everywhere, but Maduro insists on saying that everything is fine and he (I'm quoting here) "sleeps like a baby every night". How can he say that when so many people are dying out there?

Today, yet ANOTHER devaluation occurred. Our currency was 400% devaluated. Now, the minimum wage in Venezuela is equivalent to 59 US dollars.

Good luck to you two. I hate the fact that there is no positive government anywhere anymore. Why? Because they are all money grubby and power hungry. There its no compassion and I even don't like most aspects of our own government but it would be best for me to avoid in depth ranting on such controversial ideas. I truly support what you two are doing.

who is the mayor has managed to rake a amazing portion of 79% of the votes. has been stripped of his powers and jailed along with lopez.

So yeah long story short successful mayor gets sent to jail for no goddamn reason... and made san diego so great...

nah, us government isn't that bad

sure, we like to gripe about it, and it's not perfect by any means, but compared to much of the world we're doing absolutely fine

True, that and if Romney was elected there probably would be WW3, but the fact that the news continues the truth makes the government seem suspicious to me.
