Does iOS have a lot of free apps and games on the App Store?

9-Volt must be my video game counterpart.
I have never owned an iOS device such as an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch and I am still in the process in deciding whether I should get one or not. I just want to know, does iOS have a lot of free apps and games on the app store. I don't care about the quality of them. I'll play anything.

Anything!
Even something as bad as E.T. or Crazy Bus (No joke!)

They have many fun apps for free. I know for some of the more big-name apps like Minecraft and Angry Birds, you can only get the Lite version for free (which is basically a demo version of sorts), but some apps like Temple Run, Blockheads, Tiny Tower, and Words with Friends will let you get the full version for free (with microtransactions in-game, of course).

There are free games on there, but most of them are not even worth trying, and if they are, they have Ads displayed.

It all depends on the app. The free apps that depend on microtransactions for their money (Tiny Tower, Blockheads, and Temple Run for example) don't really have ads from what I've seen.

Consider this resolved
