Overrated VG music

Minecraft OST. Maybe it's too serene for me, maybe I haven't listened to the right tracks, but I don't like it.

I don't know what people don't like about it. It's grand and majestic to reflect the large, open universe.

^ That's pretty much the Wily Castle song from Mega Man 2 (in my above post) in a nutshell.

Wasn't Gusty Garden only remixed like one time as the Purple Coins theme? Maybe I'm forgetting that it was remixed somewhere else, which is most likely the case.

Well, the Purple Coins was played a lot, sadly. But when you don't play the game so often and don't hear the songs, it grows back on you.

The Purple Coin music didn't appear in every stage with purple coins, though. I think it only appeared in like 5 or 6 of the stages?

Stickerbush Symphony is not the best song in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.

They're all great, anyway.

I don't know how, but somehow, I completely forgot to mention Sonic CD's Japanese/European soundtrack. That soundtrack is overrated beyond belief. There are so many people in the Sonic fandom who not only treat it like the Second Coming of Jesus, but have the mindset that just because it existed before the American one, that automatically makes it better. As a result, so many people dismiss the latter soundtrack as garbage solely for replacing their precious, oh-so-flawless Jap/Eur OST.

Now, keep in mind... I'm not saying that the Jap/Eur soundtrack is terrible, I'm just saying that I don't think it's as flawless as so many people make it out to be. For instance, I honestly do not understand how anyone could possibly say that this is more fitting for a boss battle than this. Sure, it can be argued that the former is less "creepy" than the latter, but I'm pretty sure that was the point. It was supposed to make Robotnik (yes, "Robotnik"; call me a classic fanboy if you want, but I refuse to refer to him as "Eggman") seem like a legitimate threat.

To be fair, some of the songs are better than the NA ones, in my opinion, like Wacky Workbench Present and Stardust Speedway Past.

Much the same way that Aquatic Ambiance isn't the best song in the original DKC. It's all about Life in the Mines.

Some of Sticker Star's soundtrack may be catchy the first time you hear it, but I think it's rather meh.

more like fear factory

I have to say that although SMG and SMG2 had a amazing sound track, I have to say that the SM64 soundtrack had nothing special apart from Dire Dire Docks and Bowser battle themes.

The rest of it's decent though.

im wondering when people will stop thinking that overrated equals bad.

It's possible for something to be both bad and overrated at the same time.

The Stardust Speedway Past theme is exactly the same in all versions, but as far as Wacky Workbench is concerned, it's the other way around to me. Again, I don't think the the Jap/Eur soundtrack is outright terrible, but the problem that I do have with it is that they went out of their way to make every song sound upbeat and cheery, even when it isn't appropriate at the time. It's the Bad Future themes where that really shows. Quartz Quadrant's is a prime example of what I'm talking about.
