Wii Mini; waste of plastic. Also, why was it going to be released in Canada first? That's kinda going against the curve where usually America or Japan get all the latest stuff first.

I haven't seen any word about it but I wonder if it does retain GameCube backwards compatibility

I've heard that like the Family Edition, this doesn't have GC backwards compatibility.

It's not like backwards compatibility ever helped anyway since my American Wii won't play my Japanese GameCube games

Unless you install Homebrew Channel, and use GeckoOS, or something like that.
Then your Japanese GCN games'll magically work.
