There's a pretty good one, but it only goes up to the 1st half of the season 1 finale.

Probably. But, of course, he'd never do that. Maybe that's what the avatar state is for? I have a headcanon that the previous avatars can forcibly pull the avatar into the spirit world if they're about to do something stupid (ie something that endangers the continuation of the avatar)

Given the end of season 2 of Korra, I guess they were just lazy. ;)

The dark avatar will likely have a cycle and be reincarnated!

I'm assuming Deus Ex Jinora stopped that with her magical light powers or whatever.

Oh, also doesn't Dues Ex Machina have something to do with machines?

No, it means "God in the Machine" and it refers to crazy things happening with little explanation/foreshadowing.

technically, it's "God from the Machine."

Well if you wanna get technical lets discuss the technology advances in Korra. They've definately advanced alot since Aangs time lets just hope it doesnt become a new york like society with skyscrappers and jumbotrons. Although they've already developed movies so I fear its a little to late.

Have you looked at Republic City?

It's simply going what it was like in the real world during the early 20th century. At least, for the United States of course.
yeah, because the whole world is united states

now i'm no expert on japan and asia in general but i'm pretty sure there wasn't as much development then (though know japan modernized quite quickly)

...wait. maybe that's why i don't like korra. maybe it's because it feels too american for me

I think of the avatar series as an anime sometimes. They do seem to have alot of references from anime's.

-Giant Robot Mechs
-Sword Battles
-An Insanely overpowered character
-Giant Monsters

etc.

yes, because anime invented these

(for the record, only korra has giant robot mechs and insanely overpowered characters)

too bad aang was a wuss by the end of it and almost completely relied on the avatar state for him to win any battle.

uhh? no?? now my memory is a BIT hazy but i can only recall aang (purposefully) going into the avatar state 1 time, and he lost that time

edit: that's if going into the spirit world doesn't count as being in the avatar state (besides, he can't fight in the real world when that happens)

now, i did take a look at the avatar wikia, which confirms what i said. (well, i'm talking about the original series, not stuff that happened outside of it)

interestingly enough, korra has used it purposefully 12 times, despite the series being half as long right now as the last airbender

then something must be wrong because i remember him using it 3 times, most of these when situations were desperate like when he saw his clan to be dead, and 3 times after, but eh aang didnt seem really powerful by the end of it, never cared for his character either. Honestly felt like the entire show had better characters all more interesting than aang.

yeah, but he didn't go into the avatar state on purpose, he was emotionally triggered by the sight; also, he wasn't fighting anyone

the only time he ever called the avatar state on purpose in the series was at the crossroads of destiny, when he tried to stop the dai lee and got shot down by azula

i agree that aang wasn't the best character on the show, but i do think he's still a good one, and i find his emotional conflicts to be very interesting and unique
