My Little Pony Friendship is Magic

[Toad Eightyfive]

-A potential Octavia/Rarity duet
-Fluttershy dragon (apparently the implication was that she turns into a dragon)
-Trixie confirmed for season three

Discuss.

-Sucky idea.
-Sucky idea.
-Meh idea.

Come on, Hasbro, we need some real meat.

Hey it's like Spongebob a bunch of bad episodes made after the creator left

[SonicMario]

Let's see here on the news in Season 3...

*Trixie's Return: I've said I don't like Trixie before. But I have no problem with seeing her again. At least in Friendship is Magic a character that said they'd return one day actually does. Some cartoons do that because they're ended too early. So sounds nice, but I wonder what she'll do exactly
*More Derpy appearences: Wasn't expecting this to go away, but nice to see it confirmed to assure the worrywarts.
*Octavia rumored to be voiced and having a Duet with Rarity: That could be interesting, albeit I think this seems to imply that Octavia's no longer going to be a background pony. But an actual secondary/one-shot character. Especially if she gets a duet with Rarity.
*Fluttershy becoming a Dragon: That sounds quite interesting. I like it.
*More Crazy Ponies: Oh nice
*More Luna: Hopefully in more dosage then there was in Season 2.
*Twilight and Spike Song: I'm quite interested in that too. Spike's never sung in the show yet. But it sounds excellent to see those 2 get a song.

[Gumball Machine]

I was TVTropes yesterday and came across a list of "Dethroning Moments" for the show.

I was wondering if you guys agreed/disagreed with these episodes.

*More Luna: Hopefully in more dosage then there was in Season 2.

Sweet. Luna's one of my favorite characters/villains since she actually had a reason for being evil (I wouldn't say its a good reason, but I do find it semi-legit) and she gets to earn her happy ending with her Heel Face Turn.

I read that and I agreed with most of them but I will add that most of them come from over thinking the show because when you look at episode like the one with Trixie as it's presented Trixie is an arrogant pony who caused the problems, but when you actually think about it the opposite occurs yes Trixie is still arrogant but her arrogance is justified because shes a travelling entertainer and she really isn't the villain of the episode because she didn't try and hurt any one (except when the ponies tried to "humble" her) and she didn't intend for Snips and Snails to summon a giant bear.

I don't like Dethroning Moments of Suck on TVTropes. Just to too susceptible to petty whining "STOP LIKING EPISODES I DON'T LIKE". I haven't even read the page but I hear there's something for basically every Friendship is Magic episode.

There a lot of episodes mentioned some are justified but some are basically people taking a minor issue and taking it times like 30
EDIT: the biggest problem is there aren't two arguments there's only people saying why it's bad and people agreeing

[Gumball Machine]

I do agree with the The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 part. The Apple Family only won because Flim and Flam basically screwed themselves, or got overconfident/absent-minded (i.e. selling one of the later "bad barrels" rather than one of the earlier "good barrels") and Pinkie Pie being allowed to by a ton of cider. That's about it though.

There is. Well, almost every.

Most entries remind me of the Irate Gamer's ending statement for his Breakfast Rants.

"Let's face it, breakfast is ruined"

the poll is really depressing applejack is so unloved it hurts to see

Stay tuned NEXT MONTH

YES!

Twilight singing!

Joy!

SPIKE singing along with Twilight!

OMG, wow!

Trixie might return for season 3.

Alright, fanservice! Not that I care for Trixie that much, but I still think it's cool for her to "return".

Derpy will return, but will remain in the background.

Eh, compromise...

More crazy ponies.

This show sure does like to have ponies go nuts. I'm kind of "eh" about it, myself, and I know there are DEFINITELY people here who hate those kinds of episodes.

Cathy Weseluck doing her own Octavia impression.

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO want to hear that!

Possible Octavia/Rarity duet

Are you serious? I mean, it didn't sound like it was confirmed, but to have her not only SPEAK, but set up a duet with Rarity? God DAMN that would be the best episode ev-

Fluttershy turns into a dragon

...*dies from excitement, happiness, and overexcessive amazement*

((I love dragons so freaking much, so to see Fluttershy in a dragon form, AND with her cute little voice coming out of it, it's beyond any kind of joy or dreams I can properly express.)

Actually, DMOS is more along the lines of people pointing out offensive episodes/moments or parts where the writing lost some quality.

Anyway, I'm hoping at least one of the CMC gets her Cutie Mark.

[Paper Jorge]

ponies going insane is a must have for every my little pony g4 season so dont try to take that away

[SonicMario]

I wonder if Trixie will get to interact with Pinkie or Fluttershy. They weren't present for her show in Boast Busters.

It's not like Fluttershy would really help the plot nor would Pinkie Pie (in Boast busters I mean)

Yeah they wouldn't have (Albeit Fluttershy might have been able to stop the Ursa Minor). But I still want to see what would happen if the characters of Trixie met Fluttershy or Pinkie. Character interaction. Heck, Trixie didn't even interact with Twilight that much. She only messed with the three that she made a fool of (Rainbow, Rarity, and Applejack)

And those 3 totally deserved it (but yeah it would be nice to settle who really is better at magic)

Twilight's better with magic. No contest.

*Looks at who is your favorite pony...yep totally unbiased opinion (she probably is for the specific reason that shes the main character but still)

There is proof. Trixie has shown to be pretty good at magic herself. But look at what Twilight did at the end of the episode. Or the magic she uses throughout most of Season 2. There's no possible way Trixie has just as much Magic skill as Twilight does. Twilight even before she was Celestia's student was studying magic days upon days (Something you didn't see because you didn't see all of Cutie Mark Chronicles). In the same flashback, Celestia tells Twilight that she's never seen a Unicorn with such raw abilities. And that was when Twi was just a filly, and we can be rest assured that Celestia has seen alot of Unicorns in her +1000 year lifetime. Celestia took her as her student to teach her to control it more and obviously with age, becomes even better at it.

Perhaps Trixie could be better then most Unicorns herself. But the big fact is that Twilight's very talent is Magic should be a dead giveaway. The only ponies that we know of that are more powerful then Twilight are probably Celestia and Luna.

Trixie could be holding back for the safety of her audience I mean she is a travelling magician. Also all that really proved was that Twilight is better in times of pressure it doesn't prove that she knows more spells or more magic then Trixie

[SonicMario]

But the end of Boast Busters still stands. What did Trixie do against the Ursa Minor? All she did was use rope that tied 2 fingers of the beast which didn't last long. Twilight steps in and with all the magic she can muster she not only puts the bear to sleep, she levitates it quite a long distance while at the same time giving it milk (In a large Water Tower no less) and sending it back to it's home.

That should of made it obvious which of the 2 was far more superior in Magic talent. As Trixie can't possibly do all that

Once again it could be explained that Trixie could be bad under stress (or she could of said fuck this town they treat me like shit anyways) but it's probably that Twilight is better

Fluttershy becoming a Dragon

Ok that sounds pretty awesome.
