From an asthetics standpoint, I dislike the new amiibo having these "extra bases" on top of the original base. I assume its for compatibility with accessories based around the original amiibo base, but at that point the normal base and the extra base should be conceived of as a singular object...
I think its clear. It's like, wiki stuff. The collectibles are probably literally using each property of a species for the first time, or failing that, getting some kind of "data file" item behind an obstacle that requires a species' help. Somehow I doubt every enemy can join Yoshi, in the same...
I feel like you could have posted that this was announced in the September 12th direct for context, so that the post wouldn't be empty.
Winner Winner chicken dinner! And called the exact USD price tag too. (You pay a 10 dollar mark up for buying the games separately.)
And hey, no epilogue...
It feels weird to pitch it to viewers directly as "The one based on Galaxy" when the first film wasn't based on any singular game and as I feel like the more Nintendo-ian pitch would have been a new story that happens to involve Galaxy elements (and therefore it would not be called The Super...
It doesn't even feel like it was that long since Air Riders.
Predictions predictions: Uh... you know there hasn't been a Legend of Zelda announcement in a bit. Maybe its that so that the Switch 2 has a unique Legend of Zelda game. If there's Mario Kart World DLC, now's a good time to announce...
I agree that shell mechanics are a likely issue, but even Buzzy Beetle's other properties just don't line up for 3D games. Enemies can't really be lying in wait on ceilings except for obvious setpiece stuff, unless either there are low ceilings or the developers want to train players to look...
You're thinking of the Iwata Asks.
I greatly appreciate The Cutting Room Floor for changing the extremely judgemental opening paragraph for New Super Mario Bros. 2 to a more level-headed one.
Old:
New:
Can you really begrudge New Super Mario Bros. 2, in full knowledge Nintendo had to make...
I got really bored one day so I wrote all the story details for my Adventure Mode. I'm going to call it "Adventure Mode: Soaring on United Wings". its very Kirby's Return to Dream Land-esque.
So mechanically there are some things of note:
Battles are conducted against "Copy Fighters"...
A 1 vs. 3 minigame is essentially two minigames for the price of one. Some people (like me) can derive enjoyment out of arguing over which of the two sides is favored by the mechanics. Team minigames, including 1 vs. 3 minigames, introduce the interesting dynamic of intentionally losing...
For me this has only ever happened once, Perilous Passage Which tracks, such is the nature of an optional secret level that requires demonstrating active game mastery to even unlock. Yeah no, its not a pleasant time, managing autoscroller plus player seeking enemies that cannot be defeated plus...
I guess I don't hate hate it, but I cannot find joy in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. I'm not in the target audience, so I genuinely can't say its a bad show, but I watched the entire first season and some of the second, and it comes down to these things.
I have an inherent...
We didn't record the opponent's spirit type for spirit battles in the spirits list on the wiki. This is relevant because support spirits and master spirits still have types in the context of being the opponent in a spirit battle. Which means some smuck (me) is probably going to have to collect...
Alright weekend trial period is ongoing. I am having a blast, even though online play requires Nintendo Switch Online and therefore I'm stuck with the offline mode's restriction of only having one Grand Prix to play. I went and did all the available achivements too, even though progress doesn't...
Assigning spirits to activities always gives me decision paralysis. I kind of which I could sort the list for activity selection by skill so that I could just always assign the ones that grant weaknesses (I basically never use them) and leave it at that.
I just came up with a funny idea for a ruleset: Time, Only Assist Trophies, items set to High. This would emphasize the "KO Assist Trophies" mechanic. Called it "Assist-apalooza". Only to find the Assist Trophies are generally too resilient to damage for a KO to happen without a lucky break...
Completed it. But I'm fairly certain the only reason I succeeded was because the final strong opponent was Pichu and in this mode they're light enough to KO with one Shoryuken at 0% so I didn't have to maneuver and score multiple hits.
He can swim in the air, grow vines, and has dancing moves. He could probably use a tennis racket in a special move. And he has really long limbs, though I guess he has nothing on Min Min. It can't be "Waluigi has no distinct powers".Anyhow, I think some of the feeling in favor of Waluigi comes...
Alright, White Space is a heck of a pull for a track. Visually striking, far from actually being prominent, and definitely something that I figured we'd never see again given the point of its existence was to allow Sonic Generations to use other locations. I guess I'll be at that network test too.
I wish Nintendo just let us have as many screenshots as the SD card can fit. I love having an on demand screenshot feature but actually managing the collection (for me, backing them up to PC then deleting them from Switch) is oh so tedious and I'd rather have to do that less often
Okay, lets try this set of instructions
Run to the right, but when you see the tunnel in the road ahead, jump and land on top of the tunnel. Then continue moving to the right. This avoids the maziest parts of the level.
Fend off the enemies as you go forward, go through the loop and let the...
Are you stuck as in "can't find the exit to this room", or stuck as in "the level is too difficult and I keep dying at certain points". The solution is dependent on which situation you are in.
Oh, and there's also the fact that because I can't use items, the good AI gets to take the items and use them against me. Being beaned by.a Smart Bomb in 100-Man Smash is kind of soul-crushing, as is being cheesed out by the Fire Bar's range.
Whoever thought "100-Man Smash but with Ken and only using Special Moves" was a fun achievement. It's not. Really boring, actually.
(I say this because I'm on like try 35 and I think the first "success" didn't count because I jumped and used attacks on POW Blocks. So now I've mapped every...
I was so busy deciding on which kind of level is my favorite kind of level I forgot to give an answer by the time the poll concluded. Oh the wells.
This one is far simpler. I don't have a Nintendo Switch 2 and I don't know anyone who does. Sitting out of this one! (For clarity, that's the "not...
Humph. What I wouldn't give for Mario Sports Mix to have had art with two Power characters in it. It has art featuring a pair of characters for all three of the other cross series types, but none for a pair of Power types.
It wouldn't be an exciting pick. At the end of the day Paper Mario is Mario with extra steps. And less vocalization. He has a brown hammer I guess. Still, Mario's abilities don't usually include hammers so there's that.
This is a pretty impossible question to come to an answer on without like an interview. From what I know from other media productions (not video games admittedly), there's probably at least one person at the company who knows about the given sport really well, and thus its the experience of that...
Ditto. I played PvZ 2 but not PvZ 1, and now PvZ 1 releases on my current gaming system. So now the barrier between me and playing PvZ 1 is lower than it was before. And they did make a bespoke cinematic trailer for it. I'm cool with that.
My philosophy on the matter, with the understanding that I am not wiki staff and therefore have no actual power on saying what policy should be, is that SGG can cite things sure, and standardization of citations doesn't hurt. It usually adds important details. So if I have to manually undo the...
Actually, now that I think about it, something that supports my theory that Toad uses a blue color scheme as a fallback color in games with important color coding is the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. Mini Toad, the equivalent of Toad, was introduced with red spots. But when the games introduced...
Two things from a Mario vs. Donkey Kong editing spree:
Why is Donkey Kong an employee of Mario Toy Company? Like, all the jokes about Mario allowing Bowser to compete in Mario Kart pale in comparison to Mario allowing a known toy thief who has shown a lack of self control and personally...
Attack Piece, Petey's Bomb Battle, Woolly World (the Smash stage),
EDIT: Diddy & Dixie Barrels, Warp Barrel, Bonus Barrel, Owl (character), Buzzard (character), Rabbit (character), Superstar Mario
Some articles' history sections look a little scarier than they are if you just account for the...
If I were in charge, I'd say it's reboot time. I just don't think we can get a game with more fighters than Ultimate without the development of all further games starting with Ultimate as a base. Which is an option, but one that restricts creativity. Besides, surely by now there have to be some...
Going with personal nostalgia and picking Gold Flower. It lets you have all the coins, opens up routes that are normally inaccessible due to Brick Block ceilings/floors, and is the best way to blast through scores of enemies. It's also probably the fairest one level only powerup, since it...
Looking at Play Nintendo for some reason, and apparently DK's fur is good way to date a render. I looked at this image and immediately clocked it to Sports Mix despite my only exposure to Sports Mix being the wiki.
This poll seems new too. I wonder why they're digging out the Sports Mix ones...
Hey so there's a template for putting on articles that have unfeature nominations (Template:UNFASTAT) but the page with the rules about featuring and unfeaturing articles doesn't link to it. Should I stick it on Assist Trophy or is this template depreciated?
(Also I'm trying to replay Sticker Star to fix up the wiki but this problem is putting a hard dampeter on it. I really thought an RPG wouldn't tax it that much. I guess the 3DS is of old age by now.)
I wish my 3DSes Circle Pad didn't rot away. Why must electronics deteriorate? Are our belongings, and us along with them, doomed to eventually crumble to the dust, rubber, bones, and wires they were once made from?
I was editing Bullet Bill because I wanted to touch up the Odyssey section, and kind of ended up half cleaning up the article by changing the sections for games from 3D Land to Odyssey. It was exhausting comparing two large revisions to the current page and trying re-add what was lost and now...
King Bowser's Caslte (Yoshi's Woolly World) is named after Baby Bowser in all languages except for English and the Nintendo of America localization in Spanish. Baby Bowser is not mentioned across all of the game's marketing material. Assuming Kamek doesn't randomly allude to Baby Bowser at any...
Haven't looped around to play Mario 64, but I don't think it Odyssey should be considered a Mario 64 level classic. Actually rounding up all the collectibles gets annoying. (Like the time they put regional coins just under exactly one cliff of the extremely wide Sand Kingdom.) It's my...
