Thank you for your input. But it's hard psychologically for me to disassociate. Any time there's a competition, I just want to be the best to be worth something. I try to remind myself it's just a game, doesn't define my worth since it's so irrational, I do easily accept I am not good or even the best, but it's a huge mental hurdle for me to cross. What are tips to deal with that mindset beyond reminding myself?
Games about cooperation or simply watching birds together or something stress me out a lot less for that reason. I find myself enjoying open-ended RPs more as well as collaborating on art projects or just general community get together. My anxiety is why I don't enjoy Dr. Mario World VS or Smash Bros. online (where it's pvp and not pve).
