I'd say it's just a side effect of Tetris being the most well known in the stacker/puzzle genre.

@Borodo Obsessor Tetris is certainly the most well-known of its kind, enough to have a mindshare of these type of puzzle games. Would you say that this is a side effect of a description by one who is not wholly familiar with the puzzle genre? I apologise if it sounded confrontational, but sometimes I felt the need to understand something that I might not fully comprehend.

Thank you for reading.

@winstein yea I'd say so, the puzzle/stacker genre is a pretty small genre with nicher games than most other genres, and Tetris is like one of the most well known games ever, so someone unfamiliar with the puzzle genre would most likely compare any puzzle/stacking game to Tetris since it's much more popular than any other puzzle/stacker game.

I'd agree with Borodo Obsessor. I think folks who are less familiar with the particulars of different puzzle games involving stacking objects or dealing with stacked objects are likely to reach to Tetris as a familiar example, even when there's some significant differences in gameplay.
