Welcome to the Scribble Sandbox.
Do you ever feel like you want to practice drawing, but lack a reason to actually sit down and do so? Maybe this thread can help you.
Here is how this will work:
If you do the exercise and you like the image you came up with, feel free to post it in this thread for others to see (put it in a spoiler tag as to not reveal the prompt for others). If you DON'T like it, hey, no pressure. You can keep it secret. Or you can try again.
There is no way to fail; the only thing that really matters is that you try.
Give yourself a chance. You might be better than you think you are.

Do you ever feel like you want to practice drawing, but lack a reason to actually sit down and do so? Maybe this thread can help you.
Here is how this will work:
- Every week or so I will post a drawing prompt in this thread, hidden behind a spoiler tag.
- Once you click on the tag and learn the prompt, try to draw an image that somehow relates to it within the next three hours.
- Try to make the dimensions of this image 600x600 pixels (or 10x10 cm/2.5x2.5 in if you're drawing physically), and only draw with black, white, and one additional color.
- That's it. That's all there is to it.

Who checks whether I stayed within the time limit?
I can't draw a full image in just 3 hours! I need more time!
Do I need to meet some kind of skill requirement to participate? I'm a beginner and I don't know if this is for me.
I was late and missed the prompt even though I really wanted to draw it. Am I just screwed now?
Am I committing to anything by doing this?
Is this a competition?
I don't want to draw, but I want to comment on something someone else has drawn. Is this allowed?
Where is the new prompt? You said you were gonna post one every week and it's been three years!
Nobody. You are responsible for keeping time yourself. You have all the power in the world, go nuts with it.

If you feel like 3 hours is not enough time, you are in control of that too. You can give yourself four hours, or five. Whatever you need to draw comfortably. Just try to give yourself SOME kind of time limit and hold yourself to it. If you keep at it and don't give up, eventually you will find the time you need decreases as you gain experience.

Every skill level is welcome, beginner or experienced artist. Practice is for everyone. This is a judgment-free zone. Nobody will mock you in here (and if they do, I'll ask the mods to blow them up).

Not at all! You can submit for old prompts too. If you're busy the week a prompt goes up, you can just do it when you have time. No problem.
Am I committing to anything by doing this?
Nope! You can freely drop in and drop out, and then drop in again later to your heart's content.
Is this a competition?
It is not. Nobody is keeping score and you're not competing against anyone else. This is purely an exercise thread.
I don't want to draw, but I want to comment on something someone else has drawn. Is this allowed?
Yes. You can comment on anything that is posted in this thread.

If you notice I've slacked in putting up a prompt, contact me and give me a reminder.
