The Bureau of Paranormal Investigation or BPI for short has been rattling around the back of my head for sometime now, and I alongside many others want to know more about this mysterious organization.
As for what I DO know heres the facts:
They intentionally create humanoid/Cryptids for what ever they want.
They hunt down paranormal entities.
Many of there agents are evil or seem to enjoy harming others.
They are opposed by a rival faction AND there creations.
They've existed for quite a bit.
And besides that I have NO IDEA what these guys are about who they are etc.
So if any of the BPI creators scholars, writers, RPERS etc could explain to me what the heck these guys are and there lore I would VERY MUCH appreciate it.

Well, as the creator of the organization conceptually (though it has since grown to be more of a collaborative effort via KG roleplays and storylines), I guess I'm the best person for the job.

The Bureau of Paranormal Investigation, or the BPI, has existed in some way, shape, or form for a good while in the world of Killing Games - probably since before 2020 even. Technically, the group started as a very brief piece of background lore for a single NPC to describe their hidden motive and reason for knowing more than she was supposed to. In subsequent games, the BPI was expanded upon until one of their facilities was the setting for Killing Game 9 on Minus World. While the website is technically 18+ to join, there's nothing in this particular section that would warrant that rating, so feel free to read up on the cases, setting, and lore at your leisure.

To give a brief rundown, they are an international organization akin to the SCP Foundation responsible for containing and researching paranormal phenomena and entities. While several of the agents who actually appear in projects like the game itself and the likes of MBMB are somewhat ill-intentioned or sadistic (such as Dr. Rosenwood/Nyarlathotep as seen in MBMB signups, among others), this isn't always the case and those same projects feature plenty of genuinely good people working for the BPI who believe in their mission and the good of the world. They're more of a neutral/gray organization than particularly evil on their own, and the Director of the BPI at least believes that the ends justify the means and that the results of their experimentation and research will result in a safer, better world for all.

Their opposition is an actually evil organization called the Crimson Eye. These guys are bad news and do similar things to the BPI, albeit solely with the aim of power and control as far as anyone knows as of now. They have their own set of powerful anomalies, weapons, and experiments under their belt to accomplish this goal, and the Crimson Eye often shows up as an enemy faction in the games, such as the Mafia in, well, Mafia.

I can certainly dispense more lore if you really want, this is just a broad overview. Killing Game 9 really codified much of the current depiction of the BPI, and much of that came from the players and their interaction with the world as much as it did me - so I'm probably not the only one who could give some input.
