Hey! Sorry for the bump of this old thread, but I wanted to share that I've finished acquiring and 3D scanning all of the figures in this very rare set! All 10 of the Mysterious Mario Bros. figures, which are unlicensed parodies of the official Super Mario Bros. keshi from Bandai, Amada, and...

This is how you know you've really made it as a mascot character!

The Super Mario RPG remake was fantastic and a real dream come true. I would still love if they made a proper Super Mario RPG 2, although I understand that due to character rights and frankly waning public interest, they're unlikely to ever do that. Back in the day I had been looking forward...

This is an animation of a 3D scan I created of a miniature Super Mario RPG playset that was part of a series released in Japan by Bandai in 1996, under the name Super Mario Island (スーパーマリオアイランド). These miniature playsets were distributed in blind boxes, with each box containing one playset...

I would want a game that plays to her bouncing-off-the-wall personality!

For Donkey Kong Country's 30th anniversary last year, I recreated the game's intro cinematic in 3D using scans of vintage Donkey Kong Country 1 toys from Japan, called keshi. The first half of the video is a beat-for-beat remake of the original intro, while the second half of the video is a...

Born mid to late 80s, so the majority of my childhood years were the 1990s. Man, we really had it best! All the major Nintendo games like Mario and Zelda came into existence at about the same time as we did, and matured with us--in fact, sometimes it felt like the entire industry was catering...

Here is a diorama scene I assembled using 3D scans I created and painted from actual vintage Super Mario Bros. 2 "keshi gomu" rubber toys from Japan. These were released by Bandai in 1993 (remember, they got our version of SMB2 much later, under the title of "Super Mario USA"). I also...

Yeah, it was a cool look. I'm guessing they felt that Iggy, Lemmy, and Larry were too similar-looking (Lemmy and Iggy especially).

Here is a diorama scene I assembled using 3D scans I created and painted from actual vinatge Super Mario Bros. 3 "keshi gomu" rubber toys from Japan. You can see a video of this diorama up on my KeshiCorner twitter account here: https://x.com/KeshiCorner/status/1770099403161768269 You can...

It sounds beautiful!

I quite like Super Mario Sunshine! It had some fresh ideas, and I really liked the island resort setting. I will admit that when I replayed it for the first time in a long while as a part of the Mario 3D All Stars pack, it was quite a bit more buggy than I remembered it being.

Mysterious Mario Bros. (怪奇マリオブラザーズ) was an unofficial line of Mario toys depicting creepy and ghoulish versions of beloved Super Mario Bros. characters: These toys, created (apparently without permission) by veteran gachapon toy company Konno Sangyo, were direct parodies of the official Super...

I've created a little diorama using 3D scans I produced of Super Mario World toys that were released only in Japan in 1991. These toys came in gachapon machine capsules as unpainted "keshi" figures, a type of collectible semi-firm rubber figure that was popular in the 1980s and 1990s. These...
