However, it seems it will not be the classic wacky puzzles with the prof and a feel inducing story.
It seems like they are pulling a 'Mystery Room' again (making a game with the Layton brand on it with gameplay that is nothing like the main games)
 
I don't know. Considering they're calling it "Layton 7", I think they will still try to keep the more important aspects, such as the story.
 
Remember when Professor Layton used to be 2D and actually included Layton in it? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
 
I guess so. I wasn't really sure if smartphones really counted as handheld consoles.

I won't be getting it anyway, but still. I don't even get why phone/tablet gaming is so popular. There are maybe 10 good games for them.

why shouldn't it be available for smartphones?

smartphone gaming is popular because people have the devices on them all the time, they're easy to play, they're short, and they're cheap and addicting

also, in the case of android, they're incredibly easy to pirate
