Club Nintendo Being Discontinued Worldwide

Ah yes. The classic ''things used to be so much better before'' junk.

Any non cherry-picked evidence? Anyway, if you worded it correctly, why do you think Nintendo cares about its fans more than Microsoft or Sony care about their fans?

End of an era.

No, my friend. The era ended years ago.

Maybe when they shut-down nintendo power, maybe when they shut down their official community forums, probably when they re-organized after Yamauchi retired, but the era of nintendo offering an open hand of friendship to it's fans is long since past.

The age when it was a company of ex-toymakers and merrymakers has ended and they've become just another cold corporate entity.
Whatever emotional rhetorical effect you intended to provide is ruined by that "it's".

And nope, Nintendo is involved in taking advantage of conflict metals in South Africa (I believe they withdrew, though), becoming a power-hungry in Lewis Galoob Toys, Inc. v. Nintendo of America, Inc., and most likely other things multinational mulitmillion corporations seem to ALWAYS do.

Nintendo has always been a business. They have just changed mediums from time to time.

Why do you think amiibos lock a mode away in Mario Party 10? Why do you think we haven't seen franchises like Metroid and F-Zero return? Why do you think we see a revision of their handhelds every freaking year now?

I don't think amiibos are that bad. I kind of agree with Jim Sterling on that issue. Anyway, the franchise thing is kind of a stupid thing they're doing; I do have to criticize Nintendo for playing a bit too safe, but you should also give them credit for working on a new Star Fox game. As for handhelds, Nintendo makes new versions all the time, ever since Game Boy Color, so it's not a recent phenomenon.

Something about that post tells me it's just a troll post.

Mine? Or that one post guy's post? If it's the latter, yes. If it's the former, look it up, YOU WILL SEE!

Oh no, I'm not the one who says you're a troll for offering a dissenting reasonable opinion.

So, no, not you.

protip: accusing participants that have a different perspective than you of being trolls is Not Cool.

It's not just that the user offered a dissenting opinion, it's that, well, the username says it all ("Signedupforonepost"). The opinion is also quite radical for this topic as well, and those type of posts would surely get a reaction out of people.

I don't know, it's just a stupid hunch of mine.

I believe we were referring to that post.

But honestly, that's kind of flame-baitey, don't you think?
