I think if there are more characters than Mewtwo, it will be more cut veterans or new clones.

I can see Lucas, Wolf, and Roy returning.

As for new clones, the only one I can think of is Dr. Luigi.

Luigi as a Mario clone

I could see Daisy as a clone of Peach, just replace vegetables with something flower related and make the heart powers flower powers. Kind of like Dr. Mario.
Then again, I don't care if she's in or not.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Sakurai adds Medusa as a Palutena clone. After all we got a 4th Mario and Peach in Mario Kart 8 DLC.
