GameCube Controller compatibility?

I’m trying to put together a GameCube starter kit for my Wii so I can play GameCube games. I found a Smash Edition GCN controller for a price much cheaper than the regular one. But I’m wondering, does the Smash Edition work on a GCN or Wii? I know it works for Wii U but I'm unsure of its compatibility with other consoles. Here’s my compatibility chart so far:

It works like a regular GameCube controller. Used it on my Wii and am currently using it for my GameCube.
