It's a bit. Notch made some very transphobic statements on his twitter account that likened transgenderism to mental illness, and Mojang went "yikes!" and cut all ties with him. A short while after the statements, the twitter account of Hatsune Miku released a tweet saying "I created Minecraft", to which Notch replied, and Hatsune Miku responded with "Silence transphobe, I created Minecraft".
It has since become somewhat of a meme to discredit Notch and assign the creation of Minecraft to Hatsune Miku instead. You know, so you don't have to feel filthy while playing the game.
