Super Mario Boards

Cell
Cell
Cassandra from Tangled The Series, I can sorta see what they are going for but gosh, it was so poorly executed to the point losing any sympathy for the character, shame because the show is pretty good otherwise
Paper Mario
Paper Mario
Kersti attempting to follow up Tippi's sacrifice from the previous game despite not being nearly as likable a character, in a game without the plot to build up to it, and ultimately not even staying gone because they decided to BS her back into existence instead of having Mario wish for something more interesting and not plot-breaking.

A non-Mario example that is in recent memory as I recently rewatched this movie, is Chester V from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. Though what made it worse in his case is they blatantly foreshadow his true nature very early on. It takes away the impact of his betrayal at the end, since you know all along he's planning something ulterior. Still an entertaining antagonist but would've been better without telling the viewers he's plotting something sinister before the protagonists begin to find out.
