Yeah, Reddit is a cesspool of toxicity, just like any other social media platform out there. From my experiences with Reddit, that site is littered with slanderous subreddits where slander on famous people gets thrown around (Example: r/TheCinemassacreTruth) or subreddits with stories that came from someone's imagination that people usually get while in the shower (Example: r/EntitledParents and all of the "Revenge" subreddits). Not only that, but I've heard a lot of stories about how Reddit's userbase mostly consists of anti-social teenagers, which also adds to the site's bad reputation. It's why I don't bother to have anything to do with Reddit. That said, I'm sorry you had to deal with all of that, and I hope you'll be able to move past it all.
