It depends on the show. Unless they're specifically for young kids (educational on that level), I'd argue most animated shows are for general audiences, not just kids. That's just a stereotype for the medium and why people seem to think the only animated shows meant for adults to enjoy are the ones kids can't (or shouldn't, due to crude or mature language or explicit scenes). The reason channels that focus on cartoons are marketed at kids is because of a harmful stigma that adults are "childish" if they also enjoy this medium. Same with animated movies. The vast majority are for general audiences but so many adults refuse to take them seriously or even give them a chance because they think they're "too old for it"
