Super Mario Boards

I think the story was always intended to be the best part of Super Paper Mario but they just kept that kind of hidden and used the flipping mechanic as just a marketing point. Being the first Mario game on the Wii not counting warioware smooth moves, I don't think marketing it for having emotional story content would have really worked. That's exactly what happened to me when I was age 8/9, I got pulled in for the gameplay stuff and came out loving it for its story first and foremost. I still liked the gameplay though, at least at first, but that alone doesn't justify my placing it first on my list. Its story does.

It was still pretty successful if you ask me, just not exceptionally so. Reviews were generally quite good, but not outstanding, the majority of people whom I've encountered like it. I certainly do.

I don't know about Geno though. I've only played Smash once (my brother's friend brought Brawl to our house once which we played on our Wii) and I've never played SMRPG before. I'd like to try both at some point though.
