Roxio Game Capture only records Wii U in black and white, but Wii in color...

I am using component cables (red green and blue) with my Wii U and trying to record Mario Kart 8. The preview pane gives me black and white image. What am I doing wrong?

Here is my setup:

(Audio is working fine, despite it not having any output, not using the TV right now.)

EDIT: Just tested with my regular Wii, and it works fine. Just the Wii U is giving me trouble. I used the same cable for both.

Your image is broken (403 Forbidden).

I do have an idea however. In the Wii U settings, do you have video output set to component instead of HDMI? You can't output to both simultaneously, just only use component for audio during HDMI.

And it doesn't support HDMI, so I can't use that.

I didn't imply it supports HDMI at all.

Like I said, do you have your settings set to HDMI output in Wii U Settings?

Remove HDMI cables and go to setting and change to AV cables by gamepad

I have AV capture card myself

Okay, you changed the settings as should. Hmm, why it appears in B/W then I don't know, I always got frames in color when I used the component output.

Of all times to be ninja'd.

The weird thing is that my regular Wii, with the exact same setup, records in color, but the Wii U records in b&w even in Wii mode.

The reason why you're having this problem: you bought a Wii U prototype from the 1950's.

Just keep experimenting with different cables-I think you may have already tried the AV cables.
