OK, when I insert some 2D games in the 3DS, it does not work, but when I insert the same games in my old DS, it works. Why does it not work for some of my games???

OK, so the games are: Pokemon Platinium and Black 2. They work perfectly on the DS lite. If they had a common point it would be that they are both Japaese.

Is your 3DS European/Australian or American?
If that's the case, Japanese Versions of Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2 won't work on any European/Australian or American DSi, DSi XL, 3DS, or 3DS XL.
I don't know why Platinum doesn't work, that one is still Region Free.

My 3DS is European... But so is the other DS.

The DS Lite isn't region locked, so it's logical that it works. The 3DS is region locked, so Japanese games released after the DSi don't work.

That's not necessary true, as long as the DS game is NTR, it will work on all DS, DSi, and 3DS systems.
If the DS game is TWL, it will run on all DS's, but the DSi and 3DS systems sometimes have to match their Region.
Japanese Black 2, for example, will only run on Japanese DSi and 3DS, but it still works on all DS systems.
The European and American Black 2, however, still works on all systems.
