  • Maybe reading the 3600 word excerpt from my novel at open mic and trying to talk to people over loud music wasn't a good idea while I'm still getting over being sick.
Good news, I get to be the emcee for open mic again tonight.

Bad news, my throat is really irritated.
I just want to be able to hear out of my right ear again D:

Did you find out what you're sick with? Is it COVID? Like I said, I recently got over that.

I wish I knew but I don't have a Covid test readily available.

I think you should go to the doctor, just to find out what's wrong. Like, if it's something dangerous, why risk it by staying at home? It probably isn't anything really bad though, so don't worry about it. Just get yourself checked out. ⚕️
This is the second big outage Spectrum has had in less than a week. I hate them so much. I desperately want to get rid of them and pick anyone else for my internet. I'd go back to Comcast over Spectrum.

I use Spectrum too but outages are rare for me. At one point I tried to switch over to T-Mobile but they didn't have service in my area so I am stuck with Spectrum. (why are people on the boards so early, like shouldn't you be asleep at 2:00 AM?)

@Natalie J. I'm hoping you don't also have Spectrum as your satellite or cable provider. That would probably be even worse.

I have literally no reason to pay for cable so thankfully I don't do that. I only pay for their Internet and I'm definitely going to drop them after I move.
I had a fever yesterday but today I'm just sweating a ton by being under my blankets. It's not like my blankets usually make me sweat this much so I'm not sure what's going on.

It could be COVID. I recently got over that and for the first few days there's a fever. It's really miserable, too. I think you should go see a doctor just to make sure this isn't something serious.

Also I have to warn you the first one to two days are the WORST ones. I mean the first day you'll have really bad congestion and body aches.

I also had COVID recently as well but I'm fine now. You'll feel like you're dying but you'll get better soon and be as good as new.
Something is going on with my laptop. I'll just be using it like normal, suddenly hear a Windows error noise, see what looks like a loading screen, and then it will act like it's off. I'll turn it back on and everything will still be there so it actually went to sleep, I guess?

    Anyone know what's going on?

As someone with a Windows laptop, I would suggest describing your problem to Microsoft Copilot or other AI chatbots, they can be incredibly helpful with technical problems. Otherwise, I would look through your sleep settings, battery settings, etc, to see if there's anything obvious. It sounds like it could possibly be crashing, which could mean processor issues, so I really don't know what to tell you

@Natalie J. This situation reminds me of how I had two laptops from two different brands-one from HP, and one from ASUS, and they both suddenly died on me for no reason at all and I couldn't get them fixed. It seriously makes me wonder if laptops are much less reliable than desktop computers. I don't know. Maybe this is all coincidence. But regardless of what it is, I haven't bought another laptop since.

I'm a college student in the year 2024 so having a laptop is pretty important to me. Whatever this problem is doesn't happen often enough that it's a massive issue, it's just kind of annoying. I don't need to urgently replace my laptop.
So my Wi-Fi has been down for 11 more hours than Spectrum said it would be and now my cell service randomly grenaded itself and won't do anything. I'm so done with this week, it's been awful.
If there's any internet provider in America that isn't just total crap, please let me know so I can tell Spectrum to go to hell.
My Wii U Gamepad battery was having a pretty bad tantrum for a couple weeks but now it's just fine again somehow? Before, it would keep freaking out horribly whenever I tried to charge it but now it just works completely normally.

E: I think I spoke too soon. It was working fine all day but then suddenly it started freaking out again. I don't get this thing. My dad sent me the replacement battery he bought a couple years ago and I'm hoping I can replace it when it gets here.

So you mean to tell me I have to live in the Mario universe for a year and I'll win enough money to last me multiple lifetimes? Sign me up.

(The last game I played was Mario Party 10)
Survey says, the bonus points on my exam came from (A) the fact that my teacher didn't explain the exam beforehand and (B) 13 people missed one of the questions.
Going to need an explanation for how I got 104/100 on my African American Poetry exam when I didn't even do the bonus question.

Be careful about asking for one, the teacher might correct themselves and bump your grade down

I didn't even ask, I'm just waiting for class tomorrow to see if my teacher mentions the bonus points that she apparently gave to a lot of people.
I'd Do Anything for Love followed immediately by Caramelldansen. Spotify is the king of the tonal shift.

Mainstream radio can be like that as well, from what little I pay attention to that.

Spotify and mainstream radio can both be all over the place, but I still use both regularly. However, there was this one time I got "It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over" By Lenny Kravitz followed immediately by "It's Already Over" by Mike Shinoda. I was laughing so hard
I'm currently crammed in the back of a Nissan with two strangers because our bus was going to be late.

I've been crammed into the backs of lots of cars owned by people I only vaguely know, that's why I want to get my own car

This particular Nissan was owned by the transit service that runs the bus that was running late but it's fun to just say "I took a trip in a Nissan instead of a bus."
I forgot that for a few months of the year, my area tests its tornado sirens on the first Tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM. I know it's supposed to be loud but it sounds like they're beaming a super high pitched noise directly into my head and it hurts.

Ugh! Reminds me of how in my neighborhood every Saturday they test the tornado alarm. If you have all your doors shut you can't hear it, but when I go outside and hear it going off I have to keep telling myself that nothing's wrong.

Every Saturday? You must live even deeper in Tornado Alley than I do.

It's just the Emergency Alert System, not just for tornados.
Maybe what would help me out with the depression that's trying to come back - hear me out, this is big brain time - is actually taking the med I was prescribed for my depression.

I appreciate the encouragement but the reason I stopped taking it is literally just because I forgot. I have ADHD and I haven't been to school much lately so it hasn't been fit into my routine.

Oh, and it's also because my ex put a bunch of junk in the way of my meds so they ended up becoming out-of-sight, out-of-mind.

Glad there's nothing wrong. Also I have ADHD as well as mild OCD, so I know what it's like to forget things because of it (the ADHD). Sometimes I've forgotten to take my medicine for it LOL. That caused problems when I was a kid but as an adult it doesn't really affect me too badly.
I can tell I'm tired because I'm laughing irrationally at the sentence "That's a lot of spinach."
