Yeah but I wonder if at some point, putting too many DLC just kills the purpose of DLC, the price to get everything is getting too high.

Five dollars for a character is not that much and is standard for fighting games. Sakurai also said they were gonna try to make as much DLC as possible.

Really liking the look of this and looking forward to it. They do seem like they are playing it safe a bit but it's the best thing to do after a long absence and I think this be the ultimate Star Fox experience if they pull it off.
