I'm kinda confused at the point of this. Original 12 and 8 makes sense because of course it's from the very first Smash game. And the 8 are the starters. I suppose you could argue there is an Original 20 as of the Melee characters that Returned in Brawl. But otherwise unless everybody from Brawl returns or somehow everyone cut from Melee returns as well. We can't say there's an original 25 or higher.

Though there are characters from both Brawl and Smash 4 who will probably be staples of the series.

All it is though is a list of the characters that have been in Smash. It just feels kinda pointless when we have a Wiki with this kind of information. Not to mention it being common knowledge around these boards on what characters were in the game. Since I believe most of the active members here own at least one or two of the Smash games.
