Link should talk.

Or at least have some personality.

That's executed well.
The problem with doing that is Link is supposed to be a "link" between the player and the game world. That's why he shouldn't have a distinct voice.
I guess that wasn't the real Link who said "excuuuuuuse me princess"

I know.

But people like interesting characters. If Link is TOO much like a blank slate, no one really cares about him.

or hell just have him able to make enough impact to the world as possible rather then some straight forward crap you see in most games.

Just ignore that non-canon crap.

According to the interview GP posted, the developers seem to be looking at choices that could affect other parts of the game. This would not be a problem; I would actually love it if this happened.

Except Link is one of the most popular characters in video gaming

That's because Link is the protagonist of the critically-acclaimed Legend of Zelda series.

And a badass
I prefer a silent protagonist

Re: Zelda (Wii U)

how is link a badass

all he does is what everyone commands him to do

Can you slay ganondorf

hard to slay what isnt real

And that differs from literally every other main playable character in video game history how?

at least most characters have motivation

link is just some drone that has no personallity and no real drive

and some characters do what they want(like dante from dmc)

also id like an answer to my previous question, since no one even answered it

Yeah, people like Dante a lot. I wonder if Link was someone like him, I'd first laugh, but he'd also be much more interesting.

Link isn't a badass, I always laugh at him because of his funny voice and his ridiculous outfit.

What was your question?

Re: Zelda (Wii U)

What was your question?

"how is link a badass?"

no one really seems to answer this just doing it with another question or just dodge it entirely.

I dont think he's badass, but id rather hear someone actually answer the question.

I kind of answered it:

but it's ok because in your mind it doesn't count

no you just asked another question

you didnt even explain why he is badass

Re: Zelda (Wii U)

Link can be very badass. I mean, let's see...

In OoT, when Link stabs Ganon in the head with the sword at the end.
In WW, when Link just completely wrecks Ganondorf in the end and finishes him with a downward thrust through his skull.
In TP, when Link faces the Moblin King on the bridge (and that pose at the end of the battle)
In TP, when Link is fighting Ganondorf in the final battle.
In SS when Link is facing Demise and you literally fight him with lightning-charged skyward strikes.

Just to name a few.

Re: Zelda (Wii U)

well at least someone actually defended him and gave reasons why, was starting to wonder, seems fair at least.

It was because I was away for a while. :P

Yeah, Link is more calm of a character, as most of those examples were from the final battles. I'm not sure what kind of Link we'll get in this game, but that launching off the horse maneuver seems pretty cool.
