Well, thing is, Sonic and Snake are VIDEO GAME characters, bringing comic book characters in the mix is almost a completely different story...
And as bizarre or weird as DC can get, the design and style of their comics just seems to clash too much with Nintendo's variety of characters, from cartoony to more realistic.

I can't see Mario clashing with more realistic characters. I think it should be cartoons versus cartoons, or variety of styles versus variety of styles. Something like that.
