No he didn't, Mario was going pretty well and honestly while Dry Bowser was a cool boss in New Super Mario Bros., he's just a Bowser reskin and he wastes a slot in the Mario Kart games he appears in. He's just appeared in two games and the two were New Super Mario Bros. games for crying out loud. The Mario series that just needed one game, then the sequel was released and the only reason I like it is because it was one of the first games I ever played. His appearance in NSMB2 was rather lazy and I honestly wanted another secret final boss (oh wait, it's New Super Mario Bros, that can't happen) because he is just Bowser, but again. The only difference is that fireballs don't hurt him, but honestly why don't you just wait until he jumps or damage-boost through him? Dry Bowser feels like the Baby Characters (Ray Trace please don't kill me) or the reskins in Mario Kart Tour. This is another case of the Mario series getting less and less creative with Paper Mario being restricted to existing characters, Mario and Luigi coming to an end and the only recent game with original characters is Odyssey, and even Odyssey has the same plot as almost every mainline Mario game.
