The third anniversary of the glorious Super Mario Wiki is fast-approaching, which of course makes the Mario Awards II show right around the corner! I'd like to take this opportunity to speak for the entire wiki staff in thanking all those who have voted, as well as those who plan to attend this year's awards show. I'd also like to give recognition to our own gracious Wayoshi for arranging this prestigious event for the second year in a row. I didn't think it was possible but it looks as though Wayo managed to outdo himself once again. Well done!

This board will slowly gain more activity up to August 8th, when it will serve its purpose of holding the awards, then will be archived. If you wish to see what occured last year, check out the sub-forum.

1. Only mods can create new threads. There are not too many needed in this board and I'll be making most if not all of them.
2. However, post count is not disabled. This is NOT a reason to start spamming any unlocked threads here (punishable by ban; off-topic posts will be deleted), but if you are active during the awards, reacting to each presentation etc., consider it a small thanks for participating.

May I ask why it's been moved to the 8th?
Also, is there any need to keep the other topics in this board? Even if they are locked, it seems kinda useless to me to keep them sitting here instead of leaving them in the vault.

Also(I use that word a lot), I hope this year is as awesome as last year.

It's always been 8/8/08 --> same marketing ploy used by NBC for the Olympics. 8/12 is a Tuesday unfortunately, so the latest it could have been is 8/9. Also, it's there so new people know what to expect.

Yeah, well there's more americans, so SUCK IT UP!! (j/k) Anyway, the awards aren't that much of an event to watch. Why is it so exciting? Are you a nominee for one of the userpedia awards? Lying in bed is fun too depending on what you're doing.

I already pushed back the award ceremony as it is to fit Userpedia. A full daytime event just doesn't fit most of the community...
