FINAL MARIO AWARDS REVISION

Here's the list.

Now that we have finished the first 30 awards, does anyone see any changes they would like to make to this list? You can suggest them here or by coming to our meetings on Friday nights in #mwikiawards. They are held from 8 to 10 pm Eastern time.

Yeah, a couple suggestions. You can choose to ignore them, or not.

M16: Favorite Power-Up
The removal of Kuribo's Shoe is sort of silly. It is true that this is a very rare power-up, but it is also relatively popular with the fandom. I mean, it was popular enough to get a shout out in Mario&Luigi 3.

M30: Favorite Game
Why was Super Mario Bros. removed? I know it is a retro game and all that, but this game is insanely significant to the Mario series and pretty much invented the format for classic Mario sidescrollers. It should at least get an honorary mention, in my opinion.

U1: Favorite User Design
I have no idea whether you went over this already or not, seeing as "Final Mario Awards Revision" could either mean the whole award thing, or just the 30 Mario awards. Anyways, if that is your final revision of the Userpedia awards, then you should think about adding Mason to your list. His character design is fairly unique as well.

Both Kuribo's shoe and Super Mario Bros were removed due to the fact that they got so little votes.

SMB got 3, I think, and Kuribo's got around the same (maybe slightly more). Hell, Cloud Flower, which was a write-in, got a lot more than Kuribo's shoe and the regular Mushroom, both of them being options on the poll. Thus, that's why both were removed.

So in general, it was basically what is popular with the public. Being iconic, but not being popular is not a good reason for keeping it, in my opinion.

And we haven't gotten into Userpedia awards yet, but I'll keep that in mind.

Here is an idea for the UP awards:
Favorite new user:
Users that have joined within the the year can be voted for. (This would probably have an input box)
It mint not work out, but i'm suggesting it none the less.

As I may have said before, Polldaddy can't have just an input box, and we aren't using GoogleForms. But I do think that's a good idea.

Why did Feather get removed?

That reminds me that I wanted to ask something:

9.Series with Best Multiplayer Experience (Mario Party, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., Mario Golf, Mario Baseball, Mario Tennis, Mario Strikers, Mario & Sonic)

1. Why was Mario Golf removed? Was it a lack of votes last year, or is it because there hasn't been a new entry in the series in a while?
2. Why was Mario & Sonic added? I know I've seen a lot more hate for that series around here than I have for Mario Golf, so, I'm curious as to why it's been included.

Mario & Sonic was added because a lot of the users have played it and know what it is. Mario Golf received barely any votes.
